Special Olympics Illinois debuts "Art Meets Play" at the MCA.

The first-ever "Art Meets Play" exhibit will debut at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) on Saturday, September 18. Special Olympics Illinois' athlete-artists are stepping off the playing field and climbing out of the pool to contribute their impressive creative talents to an exhibition and silent auction featuring artworks from a group of talented Chicago professional artists.

The "Art Meets Play" event will be held on the main floor of the Museum of Contemporary Art. General admission tickets, $150, include tasty delights by MCA Catering, an open bar, musical entertainment and access to the MCA’s on-going exhibitions in the Galleries located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Floors.

Art to be exhibited and available in the silent auction will include:

          (20) pieces created by Special Olympics Illinois athlete-artists, some of whom are also active participants at Misericordia and with Arts of Life.

(15-20) pieces of Special Olympics Illinois photography (memorable events and moments) provided by two of SOIL event photographers.

         (12) original pieces by Chicago/Illinois professional artists.

VIP tickets, $250, include early access to the MCA’s exhibits accompanied by a champagne hour and all of the above mentioned amenities.
